Yew Chung founded one of the first kindergartens in Hong Kong some 85 years ago, pioneering what were then the radical concepts of Early Childhood Education (ECE).
Today, Yew Chung Education Foundation (YCEF), with its sister institutions, is part of a network of international kindergartens, schools, and college that provides quality education to over 10,000 students that span from infancy to tertiary, across 20 locations in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Silicon Valley in the US.
With its unrivalled ECE roots and unwavering heart for true bilingual, multi-cultural education, YCEF is proud to present its most ambitious milestone to date:
ECE is an extensive, multi-disciplinary field that spans health, nutrition, psychology, social science, family and community services. It warrants a specialized, 4-year study, complete with investment in top international faculty, overseas exchange programmes, research capacity, facilities, and student scholarships.
We now aim to upgrade Yew Chung Community College to the degree-awarding institution, Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education, which will launch our first flagship Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Early Childhood Education (BEdECE) programme.*
YCCECE's state-of-the-art campus will be located in Tin Wan, Aberdeen with facilities that benefit local families and ECE professionals.
* Subject to final Government approval. Details will be available in the first quarter of 2018.
We aim to train first-class early childhood educators, enabling them to contribute to society, giving future generations a strong positive start.
We believe that by providing tertiary teacher training, we will help create a virtuous cycle of quality education in Hong Kong that begins with the child in mind.
